Nutritional Therapy can help support a whole range of symptoms and health issues.

Below are some of the client stories from many of our registered Nutritional Therapy practitioners. Please visit the Find A Practitioner page if you wish to work with a Nutritional Therapist

I worked with Amani after struggling for several years with stomach issues ranging from bloating to diarrhoea. I had initially thought this was ‘part of who I was’ due to surgical procedures when young. As running become a greater part of my life, and these symptoms became worse as a result, I initially identified through a friends recommendation that I had several food intolerances. This was established by a simple blood test. It revealed many major food groups including gluten and dairy, as well as several nuts and red meats, plus yeast extract!
I adhered to a strict exclusion diet, and although symptoms did improve I did not get anywhere near the benefit I expected from such a strict change in lifestyle. That was disappointing. I was frustrated. I’d say I’d gone from feeling good 50% of the time, bad 50%, to ok 80% and bad 20%.
I was then put in touch with Amani. The first thing that I liked about her was that she listened (often a rare quality!). Her knowledge was broad but she was keen to learn: about you, and about what is a continuing changing subject matter. There is no ‘off the shelf’ solution and Amani gets that.
After an initial couple of sessions sharing history, experience, knowledge we talked about some tweaks but that ultimately the best course would be to go and complete a stool sample. This was expensive, but I trusted Amani and the results it could bring.
When the results came back they may as well have been in Latin to me. In fact, some were! Amani and I sat down and she explained this is such simple language, but more importantly derived 3 actions from it for me to do over the next few weeks.

The results have been amazing. Whilst I still stick to a relatively restrictive diet (some foods have been reintroduced) I feel that I am now good 80% of the time. Her programme has changed my lifestyle. And my running? I’ve signed up to further marathons with confidence. This has not only helped my physical health, but my mental health too.

I was approaching a milestone birthday and feeling unhappy at the prospect and more especially with my health and my body image. A friend recommended Isabelle Baz and I started working with her. Things were slow to begin with but that’s the beauty of working with Isabelle she doesn’t offer a quick fix solution but works with her clients to identify where they are at and what they need both from a nutrition and healthy lifestyle perspective.

I found Isabelle to be very knowledgeable in relation to how food effects our bodies and also what extras we need in terms of supplements and exercise to compliment it.

She was always available and supportive and quick to re-think my program when I felt stuck. Having worked out the right formula I’ve lost the weight I wanted to loose but more importantly I’ve regained my self-confidence and seen great results in terms of decreasing my visceral fat and my metabolic age.

I’m happy that I have the tools and more importantly the knowledge to continue eating and living healthily whilst also enjoying life. I’m happy to recommend Isabelle Baz.

What Sheila offers is unique. I truly believe that there is nobody else around that can offer the service she provides.

Most people, like myself, will visit Sheila seeking weight loss and healthier eating habits. As a professional in a stressful job, with long hours and an active social life, I was expecting that results would only come with discipline and sacrifice. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Since seeing Sheila I have lost weight, have more energy, am sleeping better and have a calmer approach towards life in general. All that, without sacrificing any of the normal social events that make life fun.

What sets Sheila apart is her ability to understand all aspects of her client. She really listens, and is naturally intuitive to her clients individual nuances. Her plans and advice are tailored towards the lifestyle, personality and preferences of her client. She makes a plan to suit the person, rather than making the person fit the plan. This includes looking at all aspects of her clients, beyond just the food they eat.

In following Sheila’s advice, everything begins to fall into place. I can’t believe I have lost weight at a time when I have never enjoyed food more. You will always leave her sessions feeling better about yourself. I couldn’t recommend her more.

I have been a diagnosed Crohn’s and Rheumatoid Arthritis sufferer since 2012 (although my first symptoms started 12 years prior to my diagnosis), my illness has always been treated by a combination of steroidal and non-steroidal drug treatment which has worked well to combat the severe and immediate issues. I had many smaller conditions which I had accepted were part and parcel of this disease and had learned to live with. I first visited Karen in September 2018 after reading her own story and recognising the similarities with my own.

We discussed my medical history in depth and addressed several issues from the time I was a newborn until now that I had never considered were connected to my inflammatory disease. It has been 10 months of manageable changes to my diet and lifestyle that Karen advised and I am in the best place physically and emotionally that I ever remember being in. I had learned to live with daily pain and a permanent sense of fatigue.

Within 3-4 weeks of starting the plan outlined by Karen, I had begun to realise the extent of how much my daily life had been impacted. The most notable impact I felt has been with my energy, it was as though I got my whole life back. I also began to notice significant improvements with my health, I had no issues with my bowel or joints (not even a flare). I have suffered from chronic mouth ulcers for over 11 years and have never gone more than a week or two without one. I have gone 6 months without any mouth ulcers at all.

I had a patch of psoriasis on my upper left arm which had gradually become worse over the past 2-3 years, I have tried different antibiotic creams, steroid creams and had just been told that I may be developing vitiligo from a GP as there had been no improvement at all. I can say in all honesty, that I do not have one patch of psoriasis anywhere on my body.

I’ve also seen major improvements with my sleep pattern and quality as well as my over-all well-being. This is a permanent life-style change and I can’t believe how simple it has been. I had never associated that diet could have such an impact when it came to managing my illness, I could never imagine going back to how I felt less than one year ago, this has been a genuinely life-changing experience.

I met with Helen for three sessions after recently being diagnosed as a coeliac. She was extremely helpful and really listened to me taking a holistic view of my life. I also have an underactive thyroid which Helen had a great knowledge of.

Although I only met with Helen three times but she gave me lots of recipes and advice that will benefit me throughout my life.

I suffered from IBS with lots of bloating. Elsa really helped me understand my nutritional needs.

My bloating is now gone and I feel more energised since cutting down on my sugar intake I never realised how many of my foods contained sugar.

Thank you very much Elsa for everything.

I was increasingly unwell for three years, leading to inability to function or run my business. I was diagnosed with and being treated for auto immune conditions, and was told that I was not absorbing nutrients. Despite injections and prescriptions to provide some of these, I continued to deteriorate. As soon as I started a 12 week nutrition programme with Linda, I began to improve.

Now almost all of a list of 18 symptoms have disappeared (including: exhaustion, joint pain and stiffness, brittle nails, dry hair and skin, extreme brain fog, forgetfulness, feeling of lack of balance, frequent feeling of dehydration, breathless at times, nocturnal burning feet, nerve pain in extremities, intermittent depression and constantly feeling cold), and I have got my life back.

My doctor is delighted with my progress and is gradually reducing my medications.

I went to see Lee and Anita, on the back foot of my poor performances in both triathlons and duathlons, even though I was putting in the training. I knew there was something amiss in my gut. Because when I raced my gut would feel like it was burning and the pain quite inhabited from a performance point of view.

Both Lee and Anita were very professional and easy to talk about my issue; they diagnosed me with intolerance to diary products and cocoa butter. I would have milk or milk related products everyday. I noticed two things that changed after about 3-4 weeks on the plan and I can say that I have never felt as good as I do now, thanks to Lee and Anita.

My performances have improved greatly and my all-round health has never been better. I would certainly recommend Lee and Anita to anyone who has an on-going health issue, Lee and Anita will certainly get to top the root of the problem, the thing that makes this assessment at Nadura is the plan, its very much tailored to your needs and not some random plan that might work.

Thanks Guys.
