Insomnia: Sleep Physiology, Nutrition, and Integrative Medicine
Insomnia is a wide-spread problem with an estimated prevalence of insomnia disorder ranging from 12% to 20% of adults. Conventional treatments for insomnia include cognitive behavioral therapy and drug treatment, and both options have important limitations related to efficacy and/ or safety.
There is ample evidence to suggest that people with insomnia could benefit from integrative care, including mind-body, lifestyle, nutritional and herbal therapies.
Considering the variability in environmental and behavioral causes of insomnia, as well as the varied underlying pathophysiological mechanisms among affected individuals, treatment targets and options will also vary and benefit from personalisation.
This webinar explores how integrative treatments could be personalised for people with insomnia.
